Harry's tip: Deep Purple

Deep Purple wasn't seen to best effect when fourth in a race run at a fast pace last time, but that's the third time he's made the frame over fences since wearing cheekpieces. He'd previously suggested he was capable of winning off this mark when second at Worcester in August, form that has been franked by the winner going in again since, and the return to this course should suit, given he was a comfortable winner of his only start here.

He won three in a row in his last spell over hurdles in 2023, including a comfortable handicap victory off just 2lb lower, and is expected to bounce back with Harry Cobden in the saddle.
