Harry Wilson banged in four winners in his last column - find out his tips for every race on day one of Newmarket's July festival
Our tipster marks your card for the ITV action

Harry Wilson returns with his advice for all seven races from the opening day of Newmarket's July festival on Thursday
1.50 Newmarket
Bahrain Trophy Stakes (Group 3), 1m5f
Harry's tip: Nightime Dancer
Nightime Dancer was given no chance in the Derby last time as the track favoured those who raced prominently and he was held up in last place, but he made steady headway from the back and caught the eye finishing strongly in the final furlong. That suggested this longer trip would suit and he arrives fresher than his rivals having skipped Royal Ascot, which could prove to be a big advantage.
2.25 Newmarket
Kingdom Of Bahrain July Stakes (Group 2), 6f
Harry's tip: Comical Point
Maximized had the form of his Woodcote win franked at Royal Ascot and hails from a yard that has a good record with juveniles at the course, so he is likely a big player, but at the prices I'm siding with Comical Point. He is yet to tackle this trip, but he shaped as if a longer trip would suit when a staying-on fifth in the Norfolk Stakes behind Charles Darwin. That run can be marked up given he had to concede ground in switching right to get a clear run and was challenging away from the main action. His trainer Andrew Balding won the July Stakes in 2020 with Tactical, who was also stepping up in trip after running at Royal Ascot, and Comical Point can follow suit.

3.00 Newmarket
Bet Boost At bet365 Handicap, 6f
Harry's tip: Tawasol
The switch to front-running over six furlongs has worked wonders for Tawasol, who made a mockery of his opening handicap mark at Doncaster last time, drawing four lengths clear of a decent field. His rider didn’t have to get serious with him in the final furlong but he still managed to record a much quicker time than the other two six-furlong races on the card, which were won by horses now rated 89 and 95. He was hit with an 11lb rise to a mark of 93, but that looks workable given his dominance when recording a Racing Post Rating of 98 last time, and he rates an exciting prospect.
3.35 Newmarket
Princess Of Wales's Stakes (Group 2), 1m4f
Harry's tip: El Cordobes
Ghostwriter is the one to beat on the figures, but he is yet to conclusively prove his stamina for the distance and his tendency to overrace could be even more apparent in this small field. That's enough to take him on and the pick is El Cordobes, who looks like one of those late-developers who could just improve past the rest. He has shown major improvement since being gelded and stepping up in trip, finishing second in a pair of Meydan handicaps before a taking victory in a Newmarket handicap in May. He gave 5lb and a three-and-three-quarter-length beating to French Master, who is now rated 108 after winning the Copper Horse Stakes at Royal Ascot. He still has a bit to find with the principals, but it bodes well that his career-best effort came on the Rowley Mile and there's every chance he could get an uncontested lead.
4.10 Newmarket
British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes, 6f
Harry's tip: Night Shining
Country Artiste and Crimson Rose are the pick of those with experience, but that isn't an insurmountable standard and newcomer Night Shining could well be up to making a winning debut. Bought for 475,000gns as a yearling at Tattersalls October Book 1 sale, she's well bred, being by Dark Angel out of an Exceed And Excel mare, and is a sister to winners Dark Liberty (Listed scorer as a juvenile) and Sunstrike, while she's also related to the smart Queen Of Love (RPR 108). George Boughey is operating at a 24 per cent strike-rate with juveniles and the booking of Ryan Moore catches the eye, as he has five wins and five places from the 17 two-year-olds he's ridden for the yard.
4.45 Newmarket
Edmondson Hall Solicitors Sir Henry Cecil Stakes (Listed), 1m
Harry's tip: King Of Cities
Opera Ballo scored comfortably in the Heron Stakes when wearing a first-time hood last time and is open to progress with that headgear retained, but he was still inclined to pull hard and has to carry a 3lb penalty in this deeper-looking contest, so he could prove vulnerable to King Of Cities. He's dropping back in trip and class after a creditable four-length ninth in the French Derby last month, when he equalled his career-high RPR of 109 he obtained when going down by just a length in the Feilden on the other Newmarket course on his reappearance. He pulled seven and a half lengths clear of the subsequent Dante fifth, with a further two lengths back to one who ran creditably in the Derby and at Royal Ascot, while the fifth and seventh both won next time. He's rated 1lb higher than the favourite but is in receipt of 3lb and can take advantage of the drop grade.
5.20 Newmarket
Federation Of Bloodstock Agents Handicap, 1m
Harry's tip: Waiting All Night
The return to the July course should see a return to form for Waiting All Night, who has dropped to an attractive-looking mark. His overall record at the venue is 52424121, with those last three form figures achieved when wearing cheekpieces, which are reinstated here. He's now 6lb lower than when winning over this course and distance on his last visit in August and has likely been aimed at this meeting for a while.
