A couple of recent examples are Pivoine, who scorched home on his course debut at this meeting last year and then hacked up in the John Smith's Cup on his second visit last month, and Eddystone Rock, who on Wednesday bagged his second Ebor festival race two years after the first.

It has been three years since turned a three-year-old handicap into a procession for Eve Johnson Houghton at this fixture, but given the way he has been running for Alan King I find it hard to believe he is among the outsiders for the Sky Bet Handicap (1.55) this afternoon.
