1pt each-wayGone are the days when was a high-class sprint handicapper for John Spearing, but he is becoming interestingly treated for David Drinkwater now and he could be the answer to the Federation of Bloodstock Agents Handicap (7.15) at Epsom, his favourite course, tonight.

The two best runs of Ashpan Sam's life came over course and distance in 2014 and 2015 when he won the 6f handicap that traditionally closes the Derby-day card.

He achieved those successes off marks of 100 and 97 but has been in steady decline since making his debut for Drinkwater in the same race in 2016 (eighth) and connections haven't had much to shout about since.
