Plenty for everybody in Ireland on Friday with Wexford hosting the first turf evening meeting of the year and it's not a bad card at all.

The opening Welcome To Wexford Racecourse Rated Novice Hurdle (3.35) is a competitive looking contest with most of the main fancies tackling the 3m trip for the first time.

One of those is the Michael Bowe-trained Halsafari, although he is a much improved performer, having beaten today's rival Deal With It in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle before landing a novice event at Limerick last month. He gives the impression of a horse that will progress further upped in trip and should be hard to beat.
