Consulting can maintain unbeaten record at Kempton

With a record of two from two on Kempton's Polytrack, this progressive three-year-old looks a sound wager to win this all-aged handicap.

Trained by Martyn Meade, whose horses have been generally in good form in recent weeks, he didn't fare too well on his first three starts this year but they were all over an inadequate trip of five furlongs. Stepping him up to today's seven furlongs proved a shrewd move as on his first run at the trip he came from off a strong gallop to win by a neck from Finelcity, who has franked the form with two course wins.

Following another good run when second at Goodwood, Consulting ran a shocker last time at Newmarket but can be forgiven that as he was reportedly unsuited by the easy ground. Now back on his favourite surface with the aid of a low draw, he looks primed to bounce back.
