>>Scamall Dubh sprang a 66-1 surprise in the opener after trading at a high of 340. The outsider foiled a gamble on Marinero, who went off 5-2 favourite from a morning 5-1.
>>Mehmas was pushed to 6-1 in the morning as the money came for 5-6 favourite Blue Point in the Qatar Richmond Stakes at Goodwood, but he couldn’t hold Mehmas after touching 1.11. The winner returned at 7-2 (hit 8.4).
