Chelmsford reversal causes in-running carnage

There were some raised eyebrows and lighter wallets when the stewards reversed the placings of the mile handicap at Chelmsford, with Irish raider Randall's Alanah demoted to second after crossing the line in front.

Seamus Fahey's runner had gone as low as 1.04, but was adjudged to have interfered sufficiently with Mowhoob (30) who lost out by a nose and was subsequently awarded the race.

Apprentice Conor McGovern is unlikely to be too enamoured with his first trip to Britain, as he was given a three-day ban for careless riding on top of losing a winner.
