Cadeau Magnifique’s recent form at Newcastle could hardly have worked out better 5.10 Wolverhampton

Richard Fahey’s gelding showed little on turf last season after returning from a lengthy absence, but he has looked a different horse since being switched to the all-weather last month.

On the first occasion he got within a neck of winner Testa Rossa, who has since made it three wins in his last four starts and is proving something of a Newcastle specialist. Last time he came from a fair way back to finish a clear second behind Pike Corner Cross, who followed up under a penalty.
