Catterick Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his Wednesday selections

The small fields at Catterick might not look ideal for a Placepot, but sometimes these fixtures can produce the biggest winning dividends and a few upsets would help in that regard.

The opening 1m4f amateur jockeys’ handicap (1.45) kicks things off and likely favourite Saulire Star doesn’t look one to take on. He can bounce back from a poor run at Pontefract.

The 5f novice (2.20) doesn’t look strong. It’s likely to become a match between Glorious Angel and Lola’s Moment and, with only two places available, it’s worth including both.

Master Richard will be a warm order for the 7f handicap (2.55), but there are a couple who appeal against him. Gometra Ginty likes undulating tracks and goes in with Manigordo.

The 6f novice (3.30) is a match between Fast And Loose and Grantley Hall. The winner will be needed with just three declared and it looks worth taking a chance on Fast And Loose.

The 6f handicap (4.05) looks like a good opportunity for Natural Path to get back to winning ways. He has been running well over 7f and will be suited by the drop back a furlong in trip.

Willard Creek definitely found 6f on the sharp side when a fast-finishing second at Redcar last month and he should have more to offer now returned to further in the 7f maiden (4.37).
