Carlisle Placepot tips: Graeme Rodway with his perm for the jumps fixture

Only one of the six Placepot races at Carlisle features fewer than eight runners and that might make the bet easier to get up. One or two surprise results would help bolster the dividend.

The 2m1f novice hurdle (12.00) is likely to go to Irish trainer Stuart Crawford, who saddles Roxanya. She was a good third in a maiden hurdle at Limerick last time and rates a banker.

Just Call Me Al won well at Sedgefield last time and has a big chance in the 2m novice handicap chase (12.30). He is best at Sedgefield, though, so put Rollerruller in as well.

Crawford might have the answer to the 3m1f maiden hurdle (1.05) as well with Gold Cup Bailly. He was last seen finishing a four-length second to Ahoy Senor at Ayr in March.

It’s hard to get away from the in-form Papa Tango Charly in the 2m5f handicap chase (1.40), but it may be prudent putting Burbank into the perm, just in case there is a surprise.

It might also be worth going for a surprise in the following 3m1f handicap hurdle (2.10), so stick with Crawford again and his pair are Homme D’un Soir and Wowsham.

Speak Of The Devil looks one of the bets of the day in the 3m2f handicap chase (2.40) and probably won’t carry loads of units. It’s also worth putting in the consistent Lex Talionis.
