Camlann can get Shark smiling on opening night at Galway

It might sound ludicrous to strongly fancy a horse in a 20-runner handicap hurdle for horses rated between 88 and 109 but I am convinced Camlann will take some stopping in the 2m handicap hurdle (5.45) at Galway and a beefy each-way bet is advised.

Camlann started his career in a bumper at Cheltenham on New Year's Day 2015, a contest for which he started 7-2 favourite, but he could finish only sixth under Barry Geraghty, having travelled well to the home turn.

Shark Hanlon has been very patient with him since and I reckon today's race has been on his mind for a long time. The Mee family love nothing better than having a winner at this meeting - their star Hidden Cyclone has been trained with the Galway Hurdle in mind for the last two years.
