There is a horse running today with an excellent 4-8 record on the all-weather but is 0-7 on turf and he might just prove the bet of the day – even though he is running at Brighton and not Chelmsford or Newcastle.

Bridge Of Sighs is perfectly qualified to run in the mile handicap (7.40) at Chelmsford this evening – a course and distance over which he boasts form figures of 1211 – but trainer Martin Smith is keen to keep persevering at 1m2f in the Herbert William Hall Memorial Handicap (2.50) at the Sussex venue instead.
