The opening beginners' chase at Thurles looks as though it will be a straight shootout between the Willie Mullins pair of Bacardys and Fighter Allen.

Bacardys has achieved way more than Fighter Allen has over hurdles. He finished third behind Lisnagar Oscar in the 2020 Stayers' Hurdle, reached a mark of 157 in his pomp in that sphere and while he hasn't carried that form over to chasing, he remains a classy horse.
