Block out the noise and you can see Sir Gerhard's quality

If I have one easy and quick piece of advice for all punters it is just occasionally to watch a race, and especially the aftermath, with the sound down.

It’s not that I think the TV pundits aren’t good at their job, most of them certainly are, but you often can’t get what they say out of your head and sometimes it simply doesn’t tally with what you see.

Take the performance of Sir Gerhard at the Dublin Racing Festival on Sunday. I watched the race with no sound on and went out straight afterwards expecting to hear what an awesome performance he put up and that he was bang on track to take on Constitution Hill and his pals in the Supreme next month.
