Big-priced fancy should get his act together in Cork National

The top jumpers are coming out thick and fast now and I wouldn't be too quick to write off Valseur Lido as a potential Gold Cup winner.

He might have Thistlecrack, Vautour, Don Cossack and Coneygree to take on, but he was incredibly impressive when hacking through the JNwine.com Champion Chase at Down Royal on Saturday and we shouldn't forget he was probably going to win the Irish Gold Cup when unseating Ruby Walsh at the last in February.

After his win I took the trouble to watch last season's Ryanair Chase and Valseur Lido ran a blinder over what was clearly a trip too short. He was on the back foot from the start that day but kept at it and was as close to Vautour at the line as he was at any other part of the race.
