Big-field handicaps lend Kempton Placepot plenty of appeal
Three big-field handicaps offer the prospect of a big Placepot return at Kempton. Some risks will need to be taken elsewhere, though.
On a day when we need bankers, On The Slopes is a godsend in the 1.30. His Cheltenham form is hot to the touch and, although he has already won since, it was around here and he clearly has the speed. Next best on the banker front is Flic Ou Voyou in the closing leg (3.50), which is always a good time to bank as it offers a place-lay option.
A banker in the first (1.00) cannot quite be made to fit, although Manvers House and Fidelio Vallis are clearly the most solid.
Take three in each of the big handicaps. In the EBF Final (2.05), try Eden Du Houx, Falco Blitz and Sevarano; in the Silver Plate (2.40) Bootlegger, Our Power and Tamaroc Du Mathan.
Finally, in the Silver Bowl (3.15) the best place options look to be Delire D'Estruval, Legal Eyes and Mercy Mercy Me. While it is a fairly steep perm of 54 lines, you can always keep the unit stakes low. This is one of those days that might throw up a big return.
