Beaten favourites ensure tidy Placepot

>>Order Of St George went off a well-backed 4-6 favourite from a morning evens for the opener at Ascot but finished only fourth to 11-1 winner Sheikhzayedroad.

The market leader was 1.19 for a place on Betfair and his poor effort blew the Placepot wide open, with 242,292.62 tickets biting the dust in the first leg.

The Tin Man’s 13-2 victory over 50-1 outsider Growl in the sprint meant only 14,058.29 made it through the first two legs.
