Bath Placepot picks: Tom Collins provides his perm for a highly competitive card

Tote Placepot players should look no further than Bath on Monday with quick ground attracting maximum fields throughout the afternoon card. A selection of competitive handicaps tends to produce big payouts.

Course winner Atyaaf, who regularly performs to a consistent level, and the Tony Carroll-trained Blue Venture are selected to get the perm off to a good start in the opening 5f handicap (1.00).

The following novice (1.35) features a handful of regressing juveniles, but Willoughby Bay seems to be going the other way and picks herself. Once-raced maiden Mr Beaufort could take a jump forward.

Wholelotafun, My Boy Charles and Lisdarragh, all of whom boast good form at this track, are chosen in the 1m2f handicap (2.10), while recent Epsom scorer Knowing and strong stayer Zambezi Magic receive ticks in the following 0-85 contest (2.45) over the same trip.

There aren't many better Placepot horses than Il Bandito, who has finished in the frame 11 times from 12 races. He goes in alongside recent Goodwood fifth Hundred Isles in the mile handicap (3.20).

Finally, bank on Blue Hero in the closing mile contest (3.55) to end your perm in the best possible way. This three-year-old remains well treated despite picking up a 6lb hike for his recent course-and-distance success.
