Glenview Stud gains the services of Youmzain

Dual Group 1 hero and three-time Arc runner-up leaves France for Ireland

Youmzain: a producer of talent over jumps and the Flat

Dual Group 1 winner and three-time Arc runner-up Youmzain has been relocated to stand at Glenview Stud in County Cork after spending the first seven years of his stallion career at Haras du Quesnay in Normandy.

The 15-year-old son of Sinndar has been represented on the Flat by Sea Calisi, winner of the Grade 1 Berverly D Stakes and a further three Grade 2 contests, and Group 2 scorer Royal Youmzain.

His progeny over jumps include the useful Charming Zen and Delire D'Estruval, while son Saglawy was an impressive 15-length winner of a Gowran Park maiden hurdle for Willie Mullins last month.

Youmzain's pedigree has connections to some of the headline acts at this year's Cheltenham Festival.

Sinndar is by Grand Lodge, another of whose sons, Sandmason, was represented by the Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Summerville Boy and Ballymore Novices' Hurdle runner-up Black Op from just two runners at the meeting.

Moreover, Youmzain is a half-brother to Creachadoir, who supplied the brilliant Arkle winner Footpad.

Youmzain was a top-class and durable performer for trainer Mick Channon and owner Jaber Abdullah, winning six of his 32 starts including top-level triumphs in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and Preis von Europa.

He will probably be best remembered by racing fans, though, for his fast-finishing seconds in the Arc to Dylan Thomas, Zarkava and then Sea The Stars.
