Twelve new names start out on the Godolphin Flying Start course
Twelve new trainees have arrived at Kildangan Stud in preparation for the 2018-2020 Godolphin Flying Start scheme.
The inductees come from five countries including Australia, Ireland and France for the three-year course.
Over the coming weeks they will undertake ICT training along with a course in Equine Anatomy and Physiology module at University College Dublin.
After that they are set to gain practical work experience by helping to break in yearlings from September before heading across to Newmarket at the end of October to attend the sales.
Trainee John Bourke: “I'm really excited about showcasing our renowned industry here in Ireland to my fellow trainees. We all come from different disciplines throughout the international thoroughbred industry which is fantastic as we can learn so much from each other.”
The second year trainees commenced the Australian phase of the program on August 13. For further information on Godolphin Flying Start visit www.godolphinflyingstart.com.
