Too Darn Hot nomination raises A$55,000 for CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury Research
The nomination sold to TJS Bloodstock via Magic Millions Online
The final nomination to Too Darn Hot sold for A$55,000 (approx £29,000/€34,000) via the Magic Millions online platform, with all proceeds going to the CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury Research Trust. TJS Bloodstock landed the successful bid.
The Darley stallion earned champion juvenile honours in Europe before going on to land the Prix Jean Prat and Sussex Stakes at three in the colours of Watership Down Stud.
The nomination was offered by the notable partnership of Darley and the Lloyd-Webbers’ breeding arm.
"To TJS Bloodstock, on behalf of the team at Darley and Watership Down Stud, congratulations on securing the final nomination in Too Darn Hot, we thank you for supporting a wonderful cause in CatWalk," Godolphin Australia's managing director Vin Cox said.
The stallion shuttled to Darley's Kelvinside base in New South Wales, where he stands for a fee of A$44,000.
Funds raised from the sale of the Too Darn Hot nomination will support the CatWalk aim of fixing paralysis following spinal cord injury.
"The proceeds from this sale will go towards world-class research in New Zealand, and also to a neurostimulation trial occurring at NeuRA in Sydney," CatWalk general manager Meg Speirs said.
"The CatWalk Trust believes the need for the development of treatments being made available across Australia and New Zealand is critical to repairing the complex damage caused by a spinal cord injury."
