Winning point-to-pointers listed as revamped Goffs Spring Sale catalogue is revealed

The catalogue for the upcoming Goffs UK Spring Sale is now online and features 327 point-to-pointers and horses-in-training for the two day sale which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, May 21 and 22.
This year the format for the sale has been rejigged with the store sale session held on Monday, May 19 leaving a clear day for inspections on Tuesday, May 20 ahead of the second part of the sale.
Tim Kent, managing director of Goffs UK, explained the reasoning for the changes.
"This means buyers can focus purely on the stores and still have plenty of time to inspect all the pointers and horses-in-training before selling recommences on the Wednesday. We believe this will have a positive effect on the sale, especially given the popularity of the point-to-point day on Wednesday and the large number of horses to be offered."
Wednesday's session is dedicated to point-to-point and bumper performers and supplementary entries are still being taken. Last year the sale was topped by Minella Premier who made a winning debut in a Ballindenisk four-year-old maiden on the May Bank Holiday weekend. The son of Shantou was bought for £400,000 by Jerry McGrath and Nicky Henderson, whose previous purchases at the sale include former Champion Hurdle hero Constitution Hill.
With that Ballindenisk fixture, and others, still to be completed recent winners already entered in the sale include Nova Nako (Lot 310) who won a Dromahane four-year-old maiden by seven lengths on debut for Edward Power. He is by Tirwanako, the sire of this week's Grade 1 War Of Attrition Novices' Hurdle winner Jasmin De Vaux who followed up his Cheltenham Grade 1 victory at Punchestown.

Jonathan Fogarty consigned Wyoming Line to the Goffs Punchestown Sale after racing on Thursday and the handler of Willie Mullins and Harold Kirk's €275,000 buy sends two four-year-old maiden winners at Doncaster. They are Jet Away gelding Smoke Trail (305) who won at Fairyhouse and Storm Queen (306), successful on debut at Dromahane.
The annual Million In Mind Dispersal takes place during the second day of the sale and triple hurdles winner Time To Shine (629), a five-year-old daughter of The Grey Gatsby and Group 3 Prix d'Arenberg winner This Time is among the standout lots.
Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, owners of the aforementioned Jasmin De Vaux, are also among the vendors as is Noel Fehily Racing, having restocked significantly at Punchestown.
Leading trainers with drafts in the catalogue include Gordon Elliott, Nicky Henderson, Alan King, Olly Murphy, Paul Nicholls and Dan Skelton.
Kent continued: "The Spring Horses-In-Training and Point-to-Point Sale is the largest sale of its type in the world and its enduring appeal as the chosen spring outlet for horses with form and pointers sees it produce outstanding prices in the ring and graduates on the track every year.
“Entries for the Spring Sale remain open and supplementary entries will be released online as they are accepted with supplementary catalogues available at the sale in Doncaster. We look forward to welcoming the National Hunt world to Doncaster in a few weeks.”
