Strong mix of stores and form horses in August Sale catalogue

Progeny of sires such as Ask, Dansili and Kodiac to come under the hammer

The 291-lot strong catalogue for the Goffs UK August Sale has been released, with 88 stores and 203 horses in training due to come up for auction in Doncaster on Tuesday August 8.

The talent on offer at previous renewals of the August Sale was well advertised during this year's Cheltenham Festival, with 2016 graduate Labaik - a £25,000 buy by Aidan O'Ryan and Gordon Elliott - going on to land the Supreme Novices' Hurdle. That was followed soon after by Tiger Roll - picked up by trainer Nigel Hawke for just £10,000 back in 2013 - who landed the National Hunt Chase.

Among the well-related entries in this year's catalogue are: a Malinas filly out of a Presenting sister to the Grade 1-winning chaser Another Promise (Lot 12); a Librettist half-brother to the Listed-winning chaser Desert Queen (48); Lac Fontana, five-time winner, including the Grade 1 Mersey Novices' Hurdle (158); and Keswick, a colt by Dansili who was placed on debut before winning on his second outing at Lingfield (193).

The progeny of sires such as Ask, Beat Hollow, Court Cave, Getaway, Jeremy, Kayf Tara, Oscar, Scorpion, Shirocco and Yeats are also engaged to come under the hammer.
