Initial entries revealed for Cheltenham Festival Sale
JCB Triumph Hurdle prospect on offer
Tattersalls Ireland has released the initial entries for the Cheltenham Festival Sale which will take place after racing on March 16.
Among those entered for the auction are Ex Patriot, a winning hurdler trained by Ellmarie Holden who is offered with an entry in the JCB Triumph Hurdle, Shimmer’s Rock, who was an impressive winner on her bumper debut last month and is a half-sister to Grade 1-winning hurdler The New One.
Other eye-catching lots include Sizing Gold’s sister Monbeg Zena, who landed a three mile point-to-point at Ballinaboola at the start of February, and The Big Lense, a four-year-old son of Court Cave who is out of Grade 2 winner Megans Joy who won a point-to-point at Cragmore by 20 lengths last month.
Rapid Escape is another entry of interest as the four-year-old son of Doyen won a maiden point-to-point at Tinahely by ten lengths in February.
Selling will take place in the winner's enclosure at 6.15pm, with horses available to view on the Wednesday and Thursday.
