Working within a Keeneland September Sale market that yielded overall declines compared to last year, Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin operation continued a global reduction of bloodstock by selling 53 yearlings in Lexington over the past two weeks for $2,819,500.

Beginning on the first day of the world’s largest yearling marketplace and continuing through the 13th and final session on Sunday, Godolphin sold colts and fillies ranging in price from $600,000 to $2,500.

The average price for the yearlings, which were split among five consignors without mention in the catalogue of connection with Godolphin, was $53,198.
