Dark Angel lights up Doncaster ring for second year running
Yeomanstown Stud resident continues to supply breeders with significant returns
Dark Angel mania took hold at Doncaster this week, with Yeomanstown Stud's hotshot young sire accounting for six of the ten most expensive lots at the Premier sale including the two biggest sellers at £280,000 and £250,000.
Current yearlings were conceived in 2014, when his fee was more than doubled to €27,500 on the back of a productive year with son Lethal Force landing two Group 1 sprints and Exogenesis, Heeraat and Lily's Angel scoring in Pattern contests.
The fee increase left plenty of room for profit, with Dark Angel's £124,933 Premier Sale average working out at around 5.3 times the stud fee, although some of the stallion's draft at Doncaster were pinhooks.
