Champagne on ice for half-sister after Group 1 breakthrough

Clearly Innocent provides massive page update

Clearly Innocent's dominant victory in the Group 1 Darley Kingsford-Smith Cup at Eagle Farm on Saturday represented a timely boost to the page of his half-sister, who goes under the hammer in the opening session of the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on Tuesday.

It is the gelding's second consecutive stakes victory since Champagne Kisses, by Onemorenomore, appeared in the catalogue. The pair are out of the winning Zabeel mare No Penalty - herself out of a half-sister to New Zealand champion juvenile Super Natural and Grade 1 winner and producer Domino - who has already produced the dam of Grade 1 winner Sale Of The Century.

Clearly Innocent, for his part, becomes the seventh Group 1 winner for Arrowfield Stud resident Not A Single Doubt - joining the likes of Miracles Of Life and Extreme Choice on the CV of the son of Redoute's Choice.

A late developer, unraced until he was four, the six-year-old gelding is evidently flourishing for new trainer Kris Lees and relished the testing conditions in scoring by three lengths.
