Catalogue unveiled for the two-day Premier Yearling Sale
The auction is due to feature 487 lots by 91 different sires
GOFFS UK has unveiled the catalogue for its Premier Yearling Sale, which boasts 487 lots by 91 different sires. The two-day sale begins at the Doncaster complex on August 23.
Among the most eye-catching pages in the catalogue are the Highclere Stud-consigned Invincible Spirit colt out of a half-sister to champion two-year-old filly Hooray (lot 66), Croom House Sud will be offering a Zoffany half-brother to the Listed-placed Customary who hails from the family of Oasis Dream and Kingman (186), and a Lethal Force half-sister to Sunday's Prix Robert Papin winner Tis Marvellous from Bearstone Stud (320).
Other notable entries include a Helmet half-sister to last year's Molecomb Stakes winner and this year's Commonwealth Cup runner-up Kachy from Rosyground Stud (284), perennial leading vendors Tally Ho Stud will be offering a Kodiac half-brother to Listed-winning juvenile Nations Alexander (338) and a sister to Norfolk Stakes winner Baitha Alga from Whitehall Stud (452).
Goffs chief executive Henry Beeby commented on the Premier Sale catalogue: “This year’s catalogue is without question one of the strongest this sale has ever offered. Following the huge success of last year’s sale where records were smashed and buyers came from around the world, we really appealed to our vendors to send us their best and many have delivered.
“The demand for places in the catalogue was unprecedented but we were tighter on our selection policy this year meaning we have a small reduction in numbers but that has given us a sizeable increase in the number of yearlings in our Silver Sale, which is held the following day, and an exceptional catalogue of horses for the Premier Sale.
“We now turn our attention to marketing this sale to buyers around the world and look forward to offering this outstanding catalogue of yearlings.”
