Bahen's Japanese yearling purchases destined for Britain

Five Japanese-bred yearlings were secured for a combined total of ¥230 million (£1,682,422/€1,994,342) at the Japan Racing Horse Association Select Sale on Monday by Hong Kong-based bloodstock agent Justin Bahen.

Bought on behalf of Australian and Hong Kong clients they will be sent to Britain later this year to begin to prepare for racing careers.

Bahen purchased a pair of fillies by Heart's Cry for Australian builder Paul Silvestro, who won the 2007 Group 1 New Zealand Derby with the first yearling he ever purchased, Redoute's Dancer, but who has been out of racing for a while.
