Lots to keep an eye on during a fascinating Tattersalls December Foal Sale
The four-day sale kicks off on Wednesday at Park Paddocks
B c Land Force-Kalagia (Kodiac)
Consigned by the National Stud
Highclere Stud resident Land Force's first foals from a debut book of 155 mare have been well received this year, and this colt could get the son of No Nay Never off to a flyer at Park Paddocks on the opening day.
The January-born colt is the first foal out of a winning full-sister to Norfolk Stakes scorer Prince Of Lir and a half-sister to another stakes winner in Nitro Boost. This looks a speed family through and through, with five-furlong Group 3 scorer Resplendent Glory under the third dam.
B f Cracksman-Wotnot (Exceed And Excel)
Furnace Mill Stud
Furnace Mill Stud's filly is out of a half-sister to two black-type winners in this season's Wolferton Stakes victor Juan Elcano and Group 3 scorer Nkosikazi, the former by Cracksman's sire Frankel.
It is a page filled with high-class performers as under the third dam is Mill Reef Stakes scorer and Prix Maurice de Gheest runner-up James Garfield, as well as Chesham Stakes winner Whazzat and Uni, the winner of the Breeders' Cup Mile who is out of a Dansili sister to the above pair.
B c Golden Horn-Diamond Bangle (Galileo)
New England Stud
This March-born colt has plenty to recommend him on the page, being out of an unraced full-sister to European champion miler Rip Van Winkle, a multiple Group 1-winning performer for Coolmore and Aidan O'Brien.
Consigned by New England Stud, the foal comes from a family that also includes the Listed-winning Middle Park Stakes runner-up Fleet Review, Sweet Solera Stakes winner Star Of Emaraaty and Italian Group scorer Le Vie Infinite.
B c Sea The Moon-Pearly Spirit (Invincible Spirit)
A colt from a page with plenty of recent updates thanks to the exploits of his dam's full-sister Pearls Galore.
The daughter of Invincible Spirit picked up two Group 3 wins for Paddy Twomey and owner-breeder Haras de Saint Pair over the summer before a valiant second in the Matron Stakes and Prix de la Foret this autumn.
Pearly Spirit and Pearls Galore are in turn half-sisters to two further black-type winners in Lucky Lycra and Pearly Steph, and are out of a Group-winning daughter of a true matriarch in the late Pearly Shells.
B c Calyx-Please Sing (Royal Applause)
From the first crop of Coventry Stakes scorer Calyx, Langton Stud's colt is closely related to the American stakes-placed Good Governance, a son of Kingman who was twice Grade 2-placed for Chad Brown.
He is the latest foal out of Royal Applause mare Please Sing, herself the winner of the Cherry Hinton Stakes during her racing career. In turn, Please Sing is out of Persian Song, a full-sister to Group 1 Grand Critérium second Bold Arrangement and the dam of three stakes performers - including National Stakes third Mountain Song - as well as of Path Of Peace, the dam of Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint heroine Belvoir Bay.
B f Ten Sovereigns-Four Leaf Clover (Galileo)
Genesis Green Stud
Coolmore's first-crop sire Ten Sovereigns was in demand at the Goffs November Foal Sale last week, and this filly holds plenty of value for the future in terms of her racing career and eventually as a broodmare prospect.
Genesis Green Stud's February-born foal is the first out of the unplaced Galileo mare Four Leaf Clover, a full-sister to Irish St Leger hero and National Stud resident Flag Of Honour.
It is a family filled with plenty of black-type performers as Four Leaf Clover is also a half-sister to Minstrel Stakes victor Air Chief Marshall, as well as Listed scorers Slip Dance and Misu Bond, the former the granddam of Beverly D Stakes second Awesometank.
Ch f Zoustar-Lacarolina (Charge d'Affaires)
Zoustar's first northern hemisphere yearlings hit the sales rings this autumn and this filly holds an attractive profile for the Tweenhills Stud sire, being out of Prix Six Perfections scorer Lacarolina.
Recent black-type updates to the page come from last year's Poule d'Essai des Pouliches runner-up Speak Of The Devil, who comes under the third dam courtesy of Moranda and has landed three Listed contests in France this term.
B f Sea The Moon-Temida (Oratorio)
Out of a top-level winner in Germany and a half-sister to another German Group scorer in Tabera, Overbury Stud's filly is from a quality Juddmonte family through and through.
The daughter of Sea The Moon is a granddaughter of Interim Payment, a half-sister to American Grade 1 scorer Midships and the stakes-winning Nassau Stakes third Principal Role, the dam of two individual winners.
The filly's dam, who won the Grosser Preis von Bayern in 2012, is also a half-sister to Meanwhile, who is responsible for Beresford Stakes second Laos Enlightenment.
B f Bated Breath-Always A Dream (Oasis Dream)
This daughter of Bated Breath is a half-sister to this season's Greenham Stakes winner Chindit, also the winner of last year's Champagne Stakes, and therefore holds plenty of residual value for her new connections.
Consigned by Houghton Bloodstock, the bay hails from the family of Derby hero Motivator - who appears on the page under the third dam - Hardwicke Stakes victor and Coronation Cup third Macarthur, and the Listed-winning Imperial Star.
B f Nathaniel-Navette (Lemon Drop Kid)
By an excellent sire of fillies in Nathaniel - who has added two more top-flight scorers to his name this season in Nassau Stakes winner Lady Bowthorpe and EP Taylor Stakes scorer Mutamakina - this filly is out of a daughter of another Nassau Stakes winner in Winsili.
Under the third dam are Listed scorers Franconia and Backcountry, while Prix Greffulhe winner Ice Blue can be found under the fourth dam. Deep on the page are the likes of Prix Royal-Oak winner Ice Breeze and Hardwicke Stakes scorer Snow Sky.
B c Cracksman-Baltic Gift (Cadeaux Genereux)
Marwell Park's son of joint-world champion and dual Champion Stakes scorer Cracksman holds a particularly attractive page.
The February-born foal is out of a full-sister to Irresistible, the dam of Nell Gwyn Stakes scorer and Coronation Stakes runner-up Infallible, who is in turn the dam of Falmouth Stakes heroine Veracious and dual Summer Mile Stakes scorer Mutakayyef.
Ch c Ulysses-Angeleno (Belong To Me)
Harts Farm Stud
Cheveley Park Stud's first-season sire Ulysses has blossomed with his first crop of two-year-olds and so 2022 should be an exciting season for the son of Galileo and Oaks winner Light Shift.
His colt foal offered here is a half-brother to the smart Sir Percy filly Angeleno, a Grade 3 winner in the United States for Carla Gaines having struck at Listed level for Henry Candy in Britain.
