Highly anticipated catalogue for Keeneland's September Yearling Sale released
The American bonanza takes place from September 12-24
The catalogue for the Keeneland September Yearling Sale has been released, with some of the world's leading sires represented in 12 sessions that takes place from September 12-24.
A total number of 4,147 horses have been entered for the bonanza, an event that will feature Books 1 and 2 during the first four days with more than 1,100 horses.
Yearlings entered for Book 1 are out of 36 Grade 1 winners and out of a total of 89 Graded winners overall, while 50 are half-siblings to Grade 1 winners and to 99 Graded winners overall.
Keeneland vice president of sales Tony Lacy said: “We’ve been listening to our buyers, both from the US and abroad, and they have expressed a desire that we put forward more horses which are top physicals early on, and so we have emphasised that aspect."
"Book 1 encompasses more highly graded horses than in recent years, so buyers who come into town for only a short period of time will be able to see a larger percentage of really nice horses.”
