Grade 1 winner Itchy Feet headlines June ThoroughBid Sale
Andrew and Kate Brooks to also sell Grade 2 winner Rouge Vif
Scilly Isles Novice Chase winner Itchy Feet is the star name in the next ThoroughBid online auction, which takes place on Friday, June 10.
The Grade 1 winner is joined in the sale by another of Andrew and Kate Brooks' high-class chasers in the Grade 2-winning chaser and hurdler Rouge Vif.
Itchy Feet was the first top-level winner for trainer Olly Murphy when successful in the 2020 Scilly Isles and he went on to be third in the Grade 1 Marsh Chase at Aintree last year. A French-bred son of Group 1 winner Cima De Triomphe by Galileo, he was also third in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle and has only once been out of the first four in 18 completed starts.
Rouge Vif was transferred to Paul Nicholls' yard ahead of the start of last season having spent his career under the care of Harry Whittington who oversaw his seven victories including Grade 2 successes in the Kingmaker Novice Chase and Kelso Novice Hurdle.
He was also third in the Arkle, Tingle Creek and Top Novices' Hurdle during a 21-race career so far.
Announcing the sale, James Richardson of ThoroughBid remarked: “We are delighted that the Brooks family have entrusted us with the sale of these two great horses. The sale of Belfast Banter, for £130,000, showed prospective consigners that we can provide a successful mix of pre-sale promotion and accessible online bidding.
“As eight-year-olds with a very high level of form in the book, you’d like to think that both Itchy Feet and Rouge Vif still have big days ahead of them and will take their new owners to major race meetings in the season ahead. We look forward to seeing the bids fly in for these two talented and proven individuals from 9am on Friday, June 10."
It is the first time the company will stage an auction in the morning since their inaugural one last September and entries for the sale will be taken up until 5pm on Monday, May 30.
