Cambridgeshire winner the biggest name in Tattersalls Ascot July Sale

Tattersalls Ascot has released the initial entries for its July Sale which takes place on Tuesday, July 12. The sale currently features 93 entries and has horses to appeal to buyers from both the Flat and National Hunt sectors.

The catalogue includes 35 fillies and mares and 54 geldings in and out of training with 12 store horses and four point-to-pointers also entered, although those numbers could grow as Tattersalls Ascot will accept further entries until Tuesday, 5 July.

Leading trainers including Richard Hannon, Simon and Ed Crisford, Andrew Balding, Nicky Henderson, Harry and Roger Charlton, David Pipe and Gordon Elliott are all represented.

Godolphin's seven-strong draft contains last year's Cambridgeshire winner Bedouin's Story, who was also second in the Darley Stakes and Dubai Millennium Stakes for Saeed bin Suroor. The seven-year-old Farhh gelding is joined in the sale by Epic Hero, a son of Siyouni, who was last seen finishing fourth to Lord North in the Group 1 Dubai Turf at Meydan for Simon and Ed Crisford.

Shade Oak Stud consigns a quintet of stores from the third crop of their resident Telescope and a store by their late sire Black Sam Bellamy, a Group 1-winning full-brother to Galileo.

Other sires with stores currently catalogued include Great Pretender and Pether's Moon.
