Pricey breeze-up filly Eyes On Asha set for all-weather debut
The daughter of Redoute's Choice fetched €775,000 last year
Eyes On Asha, the second most expensive lot at the Arqana May Two-Year-Old Breeze Up Sale last year, is set to make her debut in the maiden fillies' stakes at 5:45pm at Newcastle on Friday.
Bred by Haras du Mont dit Mont, the three-year-old daughter of Redoute's Choice is out of the Footstepsinthesand mare Sunday Nectar, who won a Listed race in Italy and was Group 3-placed at Goodwood.
She proved to be a remarkably profitable pinhook for Oaks Farm Stables, who bought her as a yearling for €75,000, and then sold her as a two-year-old for €775,000 to Stephen Hillen at last year's Arqana sale.
Trained by Kevin Ryan for owner T A Rahman, Eyes On Asha is one of four newcomers that make up half of the eight-runner field.
Fiendish is an unraced Street Cry half-sister to American sire Tiz Wonderful and is out of the winning Hennessy mare Evil.
The pair face a tough ask on debut, however, as they are up against Hot Natured, who was a half-length second to €1.1 million purchase Signe on her debut at the course earlier in the month.
