Practical Joke, one of two Grade 1 winners by Into Mischief, will join Coolmore America's roster at Ashford Stud for the 2018 breeding season upon the conclusion of his racing career.

The three-year-old colt, who is trained by Chad Brown, has won five races out of ten career starts to date including the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes and Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at two. This year he added the Grade 3 Dwyer Stakes to his winning record as well as landing a third top-level victory to his name in the H. Allen Jerkens Stakes last month.

He will likely make his next start when contesting the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile later this year.

Whispering Oaks bred Practical Joke out of the stakes-placed Distorted Humor mare Halo Humor which makes him a half-brother to the US winner Cat On. Originally offered at the 2015 Keeneland January Sale by Vinery Stables, he was bought by Clear Ridge Stables for $135,000. He was then reoffered at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale where Aquinnah Ventures purchased him for $240,000.

Ahsford Stud manager Dermot Ryan said: "He's a very, very good-looking horse, he's by one of the hottest sires in the country and he's amongst the very best racehorses of his generation. We're absolutely delighted that he's coming to stand here."
