Sons of In The Wings take centre stage in German sire ranks
Soldier Hollow and Adlerflug first and fourth in country's standings
As colossal an influence as Monsun was on German breeding, his sire-line has yet to lay down any roots in the country. Of course that could change through Gestut Fahrhof’s Prix du Moulin and Prix d’Ispahan winner Maxios, who has the pedigree to match his race record as a Niarchos-bred from the female family of Machiavellian and Northern Dancer.
Supported by a strong syndicate of breeders, there seems to be a real hope within the bloodstock community that he will do well, not just because he is one of the last Monsuns to stud but in light of his potential role in the health of German bloodstock.
But that is all in the future and for now one ongoing theme within German bloodstock is the increasing prominence of the In The Wings sire-line.
