First debut runner in eight years for Workforce's dam Soviet Moon
Kingman filly Strelka to appear at Windsor on Monday
Juddmonte will be rewarded for their perseverance on Monday when Ralph Beckett takes the wraps off the regally bred filly Strelka - a Kingman half-sister to the Derby and Arc hero Workforce - in the 1m2f EPS Real Estate Fillies' Novice Stakes at Windsor, with Harry Bentley set to ride.
When the filly was foaled on April 20, 2016, she became the first foal in seven years for the Sadler's Wells mare Soviet Moon, after the mare had successfully delivered five consecutive foals from her first five matings.
Her first foal was Rocket Launch, a son of Oasis Dream who has won five races up to a mile since being sold to Greece. He was followed by Extreme Impact, a son of Rock Of Gibraltar who rather surprisingly has made his biggest impact over jumps, winning seven hurdle races for Evan Williams and Graeme McPherson.
Her best runner to date has been her third foal Workforce, who set a new track record at Epsom when winning the 2010 Derby and annexed the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe later that season.
Sir Michael Stoute brought him back as a four-year-old when he finished second to So You Think in the Eclipse and to Nathaniel in the King George.
Having initially stood for five seasons at Shadai Stallion Station in Japan, where he has sired four stakes performers headed by Listed winner Meisho Keimei, he returned to Europe to stand at Knockhouse Stud in County Kilkenny as a dual-purpose stallion in 2017.
Among his Irish-bred progeny is the colt foal out of the Accordion mare Cluain Easa who realised €32,000 at last year's Goffs December National Hunt Sale.
Spectacle and Moonship - Soviet Moon's fourth and fifth foal respectively - failed to trouble the judge in two starts each, and following a lengthy barren spell, Soviet Moon has since produced Emissary, a two-year-old full-brother to Strelka in training with Hugo Palmer, and visited Frankel last year.
The unraced Soviet Moon is a full-sister to the Racing Post Trophy and St Leger winner Brian Boru and the Curragh Listed winner Kitty O'Shea.
She also shares her dam, the Park Hill Stakes scorer Eva Luna, with three-time Group 2 winner Sea Moon and French Group 2 victor Moon Search.
