Kempton's evening card on Wednesday has attracted a number of intriguingly bred juvenile newcomers, two of whom stand out in particular.

Tuscan Oasis is set to make her debut in the fillies' novice stakes over six furlongs at 5.40 for trainer Clive Cox and owner-breeder James Egan of Corduff Stud.

She is by Banstead Manor Stud stalwart Oasis Dream, source of 17 Group/Grade 1 winners, out of a mare who has quietly achieved great things at stud.

Her dam Sovana, a Group 3-placed daughter of Desert King, has produced three Pattern winners as well as another five offspring with a peak Racing Post Rating of 80 or higher.

Sovana's best progeny are Kilboy Estate Stakes winner and Pretty Polly Stakes runner-up Bocca Baciata, Prix Miesque scorer and Poule d'Essai des Pouliches third Topeka and Prix Edmond Blanc winner Kalsa.

The family was nurtured by the late Gerry Oldham, owner of the legendary stayer Sagaro whose Citadel Stud was dispersed at Goffs in 2013.

Corduff Stud took the opportunity to buy Sovana for €58,000 and they are no doubt very pleased to have a daughter by Oasis Dream – damsire of the likes of Sioux Nation and Siskin – to one day return to the farm to continue the line.

A good run by Tuscan Oasis would give an immediate update to the buyers of the Kodiac yearling filly out of Sovana bought by Madeleine Tylicki, Andrew Kinirons and Keatingstown for €135,000 at Goffs on Tuesday.

She might have her work cut out against a few more experienced rivals, though, including Sandown runner-up Qaseeda, a Poet's Voice half-sister to this season's Craven Stakes winner and 2,000 Guineas third Skardu who is with that colt's trainer William Haggas.

The other eye-catching debutant at Kempton on Wednesday is Ya Hayati, who is set to make his bow in the mile novice stakes for two-year-olds at 6.10.

The Godolphin homebred, trained by Charlie Appleby, is by the operation's kingpin sire Dubawi, who has 41 elite winners on his roll of honour including Coronet, Ghaiyyath and Too Darn Hot in Europe this season.

He is the first produce of Wedding Toast, a daughter of Street Sense who carried Godolphin's royal blue silks to Grade 1 victory twice, in the Ogden Phipps Stakes and Beldame Stakes in 2015.

Wedding Toast is in turn out of Golden Sheba, an unraced Coronado's Quest half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Congaree and Triple Bend Handicap runner-up Sangaree.

Street Sense's oldest crop are only ten years old yet his daughters have already made quite an impact at paddocks. Most significantly, he is broodmare sire of last year's European champion Roaring Lion.
