Multiple Japanese Grade 1 winner Fierement has been retired due to a suspensory ligament injury and will stand at Katsumi Yoshida's Northern Farm.

The son of Deep Impact, who is out of the French-bred Premio Lydia Tesio scorer Lune D'Or, struck in the Kikuka Sho at three before following up in the Tenno Sho Spring at four. The six-year-old landed the Tenno Sho Spring again this year before a brave second to Almond Eye in the Tenno Sho Autumn in November.

Fierement concluded his career when a half-length third to Chrono Genesis in the Arima Kinen last month, and retires as the winner of five of his 12 starts and 709,265,000 yen (£5m/€5.6m) in prize-money.

The Sunday Racing-owned colt, who is the seventh foal out of the multiple stakes-winning Lune D'Or, is a close relation to the winning Heart's Cry mare Revoir and Learned Farm, the dam of Prix du Gros-Chene scorer and Tally Ho Stud stallion Inns Of Court.

Lune D'Or, a daughter of Green Tune, won the Prix de Malleret and Prix de Pomone for Richard Gibson before her Italian Group 1 triumph and was subsequently picked up by Yoshida for €750,000 at Arqana's December Mixed Sale in 2010.
