Gainesway's leading light Tapit will stand for a fee of $200,000 in 2020. The sum represents a decrease for the second year in a row, with the grey having been available for $225,000 this year and for $300,000 between 2015 and 2018.

Tapit is nonetheless having another fine season, ranking just behind Into Mischief on the overall North American sires list, but in first place by graded and stakes winners.

He is the sire of 25 Grade 1 winners, more than any other active sire in North America, and seven champions. At the 2019 Keeneland September Sale, Tapit was responsible for the $2.5 million colt bought by Godolphin who topped the opening session of Book 1.

"Tapit continues to have a tremendous impact on the breed," said Gainesway's Antony Beck.

"We're thrilled to watch the success of his sons at stud. Constitution and Frosted have been exceptionally well received. And we're very happy to have several of his promising young sons standing at Gainesway in Anchor Down, Tapizar and Tapwrit."

Empire Maker ($85,000 this year) will have his fee announced at a future date. Sire of 12 Grade 1 winners, he will be represented in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile by the exciting Eight Rings. Empire Maker’s 2019 Keeneland September yearlings sold up to $2m, with a Book 1 average of $475,666.
