Fasig-Tipton's 'Night of the Stars' November Sale is renowned for its theatre, and with 22 horses selling for $1 million or more last year, the 2022 sale is much anticipated.

As ever, a number of top-class racemares are being offered as broodmare prospects on Tuesday.

The 2020 renewal saw champion filly Monomoy Girl sell to Spendthrift for $9.5m, the joint third-highest paid at the November sale for a filly or mare, and this year's line-up is set to include the likes of top-notch performers Swiss Skydiver, Aunt Pearl, Etoile, Dayoutoftheoffice and Shedaresthedevil.

Swiss Skydiver (hip 246), consigned by Runnymede Farm, is a three-time top-level winner for Kenny McPeek and owner Peter Callahan, and rates as one of the sale's potential top lots.

So too do last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Aunt Pearl (208), who had subsequent 1,000 Guineas heroine Mother Earth behind her at Keeneland, and Shedaresthedevil (232), like Swiss Skydiver a daughter of Daredevil and whose finest hour came when defeating Swiss Skydiver in last year's Kentucky Oaks. She finished sixth in the Breeders' Cup Distaff on Saturday.

Other potential sale highlights include Etoile (166), a daughter of Siyouni who won last year's EP Taylor Stakes for Chad Brown and was also a Group 3 winner in France, and Dayoutoftheoffice (156), a winner of the Frizette Stakes and second in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

The sale will begin with around 135 weanlings - all of whom have been selected on pedigree and conformation - before racing and broodmare prospects and in-foal mares

Fasig-Tipton president Boyd Browning said upon the catalogue's release: “Eclipse Champions, Breeders’ Cup winners, millionaires, graded producers, and selected weanlings – it’s all on offer again at our November Sale this year. This year’s catalogue is arguably one of the deepest we have had in recent memory, with 45 Graded stakes winners or producers, 30 of which are Grade 1.

“We are particularly excited about the variety of offerings in this year’s sale, which should have significant appeal to breeding and racing operations from every part of the globe."

He continued: "The quality of this catalogue – offered in a single, spectacular evening session – makes our November Sale one of the more singularly important and exciting events on the thoroughbred auction calendar. We look forward to showcasing the sport’s finest thoroughbreds to the world after the Breeders’ Cup.”

The sale starts at 2pm local time (7pm GMT) with online bidding and phone bidding available.
