Tim Frost would have owned a contender for major chases some 40 years ago had he not had a greater financial imperative.

Prince Rock, one of the first horses that the Dorset farmer bred, had run up a formidable sequence in point-to-points during the mid-70s before Michael Buckley was to make him an offer he could not refuse.

He was to win some decent prizes over fences in Buckley’s black and white livery, finishing second in both the Welsh National at Chepstow and to the remarkable Tied Cottage in the Irish version.
