Tattersalls Ireland has appointed Shirley Anderson-Jolag to the role of UK Client Relations. Her new job will be in addition to her work promoting Tattersalls' sales at Ascot and Cheltenham.

Anderson-Jolag will work alongside Tattersalls Ireland's existing client relations and bloodstock teams to promote the company's Flat and National Hunt sales to UK-based vendors and purchasers, both current and new ones. The emphasis will be strongly on Tattersalls Ireland's flagship store sale, the Derby Sale, and the company's ever-strengthening September Yearling Sale.

She joined Tattersalls seven years' ago and in that time was heavily involved in the promotion and development of the group's Ascot and Cheltenham sales and played a pivotal role in the launch of the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale last year.

Commenting on her appointment, Simon Kerins CEO of Tattersalls Ireland said: "Shirley is a great addition to the Tattersalls Ireland team and will be working alongside Niamh Spiller. She has built up a huge network of contacts in the UK during her seven years with the Tattersalls group, and her deep understanding of both the National Hunt and Flat spheres makes her perfectly suited to promoting the varied portfolio of Tattersalls Ireland sales to purchasers and vendors in our largest overseas market."

Her appointment is the fourth major one for Tattersalls Ireland in the last number of weeks coming hot on the heels of the announcement of Orla McKenna as Head of Bloodstock, Christopher Farrell in the role of Flat Sales Executive and the recruitment of Barry O'Neill as a bloodstock representative and inspector.

"We began 2022 with a record-breaking February National Hunt Sale and the new appointments reflect Tattersalls Ireland's determination to build on recent success and to establishing a young, vibrant team committed to every facet of the Irish thoroughbred industry," Kerins added.

Anderson-Jolag expressed her delight at the news: "My new role as UK Client Liaison for Tattersalls Ireland is, in so many ways, the perfect and logical progression after seven years within the Tattersalls group. The growth of the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sales in recent years has allowed me to build strong relationships in the National Hunt industry and I am looking forward to working with existing clients and introducing new faces to the wonderful team at Tattersalls Ireland.

"Similarly, my experience at Tattersalls in Newmarket will be invaluable as we look to promote and grow the Tattersalls Ireland Flat Sales."
