Sherri Ivanovich announced as Gainesway's new farm manager
She was previously yearling manager at the Kentucky-based farm
Sherri Ivanovich has been appointed farm manager at Gainesway Farm, where she has been yearling manager for the past 22 years.
Champion Monomoy Girl, along with Grade 1 winners including Covfefe, Klimt and Practical Joke are some of the recent stars who have been raised and/or consigned as yearlings during Ivanovich's time as the farm's yearling manager.
At Book 1 of this year's Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Gainesway was leading consignor by gross earnings, selling 23 yearlings for a total of $12,465,000.
Announcing Ivanovich's promotion to her new role, Gainesway's General Manager, Brian Graves paid tribute to the part played by Ivanovich in the farm's success on the track and in the sales ring.
He said: “I've worked with Sherri for over 30 years and she is the epitome of hard work and dedication. A great deal of any success we’ve had is a direct result of Sherri’s support, and her commitment to excellence. I'm very excited to promote her to this role."
The farm, which is home to North America's leading sire Tapit, is owned by the Beck family and Anthony Beck, CEO of Gainesway, warmly welcomed Ivanovich's elevation to the position of farm manager.
Beck said: “Sherri has been an integral part of the Gainesway family for many years and we are fortunate to have someone with her knowledge and expertise watching over many of the important operations here at the farm."
