Saxon Warrior's first foal 'a correct colt with size, bone and quality'
New arrival was born at Haras de l'Hotellerie on Thursday
Saxon Warrior - the only son of sire of sires Deep Impact to be a Group 1 winner at two and three - sired his first foal in France on Thursday.
The colt is the first foal out of the five-year-old Galileo mare Gloriously and is described by Guillaume Garcon of Haras de l'Hotellerie as "a correct colt with size, bone and quality".
With Saxon Warrior himself out of the Galileo mare Maybe, that means the colt is inbred 3x2 to the 11-time champion sire.
Saxon Warrior was one of the best colts of his generation and landed the Racing Post Trophy at two and 2,000 Guineas at three.
He ran five more times in Group 1 company as a three-year-old, never finishing outside the first four, including placed efforts in the Irish Derby, Coral-Eclipse and Irish Champion Stakes.
Saxon Warrior stands at Coolmore Stud for a fee of €27,500.
