Recent Grade 1 Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle winner Aurora Vega, a daughter of the mighty Quevega, is among the early entries for next week's Goffs Punchestown Sale.

By the reigning jumps champion sire Walk In The Park and out of the brilliant Quevega, the seven-year-old is a sister to the ill-fated Grade 1 winner Facile Vega. The gelding struck in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham and Punchestown before winning top-level honours over hurdles for Willie Mullins and the Hammer & Trowel Syndicate.

Aurora Vega struck at Listed level in a bumper and has won four times over hurdles, most notably at Fairyhouse last weekend, where she won by two and a quarter lengths.

The winners of two Easter Monday bumpers will also be offered for sale.

At Fairyhouse, Robert Tyner’s I’m Slippy was the game winner of the competitive Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Bumper. In the colours of Brendan Keogh, the son of Maxios defeated 16 rivals and looks an exciting hurdle prospect for next season

.At Cork, Clay Pigeons followed up his win in a Boulta four-year-old maiden with a decisive victory in the point-to-point bumper at Cork in the colours of Paul Byrne, who sold subsequent Grand National winner Noble Yeats as well as subsequent Grade 1 performer and Cesarewitch winner The Shunter.

Entries will be vetted on Wednesday at Goffs and they will be available for inspection throughout racing at Punchestown on Thursday.

The catalogue for the sale will be released on Monday.
