Star Of Hope
Molson Coors British EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes (4.45, Newmarket, Wednesday)
What's the story?
Godolphin has won this seven-furlong three-year-old fillies' contest twice in the last three years and plenty of eyes will be on the operation's 2,900,000gns Book 1 purchase.
Star Of Hope sold from Grangemore Stud to Sheikh Mohammed's operation at Tattersalls in 2024 and she rates a hugely exciting prospect both on the track and in the long-term as a broodmare.
How's she bred?
Fantastically, as one would hope given her price tag. The daughter of 2024 British and Irish champion sire Dark Angel is out of the stakes-placed Kodiac mare Futoon, making her a sister to champion older miler Charyn. Sumbe's superstar was a Group 2 winner at two and went on to collect Group 1 laurels at four in the Queen Anne Stakes, Prix Jacques le Marois and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. The brilliant grey is now standing his second season at Sumbe's Montfort et Preaux in France.

Star Of Hope and Charyn are also siblings to Mill Reef Stakes winner Wings Of War. Futoon has a two-year-old Dark Angel colt named Chymbulak, a 450,000gns Tattersalls purchase by Sumbe, as well as a yearling filly by Blue Point.
Who does she face?
Chief among them is Cheveley Park Stud homebred So Regal, a close-up third on debut at Chelmsford in November. The three-year-old is by Kingman and out of Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf heroine Queen's Trust, making her a sister to Listed winner and Group-placed Chancellor.
Another to note is debutante Darzah, a daughter of Dubawi and Listed-winning Dansili mare Stylistique. The 375,000gns Tattersalls Book 1 graduate hails from the family of top-class winners Eagle Mountain and Dank.
