Notable offerings galore at Bloodstock South Africa National Yearling Sale

Bloodstock South Africa's two-day National Yearling Sale kicks off on Thursday, with buyers set to clash over some of the finest pedigrees the country has to offer.
The sale takes place at the TBA Complex in Johannesburg, and recent star graduates include Equus Award winners Rainbow Bridge, Do It Again, Jet Dark, Hawwaam, Good Traveller, Anything Goes and Celtic Sea, while this year's Grade 1 Jonsson Workwear Cape Derby scorer Pomp And Power also features upon the roll of honour.
Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm offers the seventh foal out of J & B Met and Balanchine scorer River Jetez in Tidal Rock (lot 131), a half-brother to Grade 1 Computaform Sprint winner Rivarine and Grade 3 Kenilworth Fillies Nursery victress Delta Queen.
Among Mauritzfontein Stud's lots is Celtic Chief (211), a son of Vercingetorix and out of a full-sister to American Grade 1 heroine Lucifer's Stone and a half-sister to stakes scorer Lilly Ladue, in turn the dam of Champions Day Turf Stakes winner Ninety One Assault.
The operation also sells Green Garnet (232), a Gimmethegreenlight colt out of a winning half-sister to Ballysax Stakes winner Moiqen and Beresford Stakes second Rekaab. The third dam is Yorkshire Oaks heroine and Oaks runner-up Roseate Tern.
Other yearlings with notable pedigrees include Varsfontein Stud's Forest God (226), a son of leading sire Silvano and out of the stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Touch The Sky, a relation of Equus Champions Rabiya and Bela-Bela and from a family that includes Cape Fillies Guineas heroine Snowdance.
Also of note is their Royal Inspector (243), a colt by Gimmethegreenlight and out of a full- or half-sister to black-type scorers such as Grade 1 SA Fillies Sprint heroine Real Princess and Grade 1 Cape Guineas hero William Longsword.
Lammerskraal Stud consigns Gimmelightning (301), another by Gimmethegreenlight and out of a winning and stakes-placed Jet Master half-sister to Grade 1 Premier's Champion Stakes second Kilcoy Castle and Sheisachillygirl, the dam of Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes winner Too Phat To Fly.
Varsfontein's Steadfast (378) is out of a winning half-sister to the dam of South African Triple Crown hero Malmoos and from a family filled with black-type winners, while Gimmeanotherchance (379) is out of Grade 2 Golden Slipper scorer Final Judgement, a daughter of Judpot who is out of Grade 1 Garden Province Stakes heroine Final Claim, a half-sister to Grade 1 Argus Guineas winner Alpha Omega and Grade 3 scorer Over Bearing.
Avontuur Thoroughbred Farm's Give It A Go (444) is by 2012 Equus Champion three-year-old colt Vercingetorix and is the fourth foal out of Grade 3 Champion Juvenile Cup victress Jet Set Go, a Jet Master full-sister to Grade 2 Ipi Tombe Challenge second Jet Trall.
The sale takes place from 10am local time, with lots 1-250 offered on the first day.
