Exciting sophomore sire No Nay Never broke new ground on Friday when Nay Lady Nay led home a 1-2-3 for European-breds in the Grade 2 Mrs Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs, to become the sire's first Pattern winner in the US.

The Chad Brown-trained Nay Lady Nay was ridden by Junior Alvarado in the contest for three-year-old fillies over an extended mile on turf.

The Irish-bred filly held on by half a length from the German-bred Pastorius filly Dalika, with the Irish-bred Society Rock filly The Mackem Bullet a further length and a half back in third.

Nay Lady Nay was bred by Stephen Sullivan and is a full-sister to the high-class juvenile colt Arizona, out of the English Channel mare Lady Ederle, a daughter of the 1993 Italian Oaks scorer Bright Generation.

She has changed hands three times at public auction, with agent Hidden Brook purchasing her for $210,000 from Eddie Woods at the Ocala March Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training last year.

She was previously acquired by agent Gatewood Bell for €50,000 from The Castlebridge Consignment at the Goffs Orby Sale, while Bobby O'Ryan purchased her for €44,000 as a foal in the same sales ring from Railstown Stud.

Buyers will have the opportunity to tap into the same bloodlines when Deadly Reel, a four-year-old half-sister to Nay Lady Nay by Pour Moi, comes under the hammer at the Tattersalls December Sale on Monday.

Nay Lady Nay joins the 1994 winner Mariah's Storm on the race's roll of honour, with the latter having gone on to produce Giant's Causeway and You'resothrilling, whose five stakes scorers have all won or been placed at the highest level, including the Group 1-winning trio of Gleneagles, Happily and Marvellous.

No Nay Never has seen his fee climb to €150,000 for the 2020 breeding season, following on from a fantastic campaign in which Ten Sovereigns landed the July Cup and Arizona struck in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes, to become the sire's first Royal Ascot winner.

The Coolmore stud resident, who has shuttled to Australia and Chile, has now supplied Group or Graded winners in Britain, Chile, France, Ireland, Italy and the US, with progeny earnings in excess of £2 million for this year.
